Theodor Uggla is a Swedish lyric tenor, raised in Stockholm and residing in Malmö. He has studied at the Dutch National Opera Academy in Amsterdam, the Royal College of Music in London, and the Malmö Academy of Music. Alongside his studies, Theodor has been coached by the court singer Björn Asker in Copenhagen and opera singer Anders Bergström, who guided him in his solo vocal studies and inspired him to dedicate himself to the enchanted world of opera.
In the fall of 2017, Theodor made his opera debut when he appeared in Wermland Opera's production of Bohuslav Martinů's opera "The Greek Passion." Since then, he has had the opportunity to explore various roles on stages in Sweden and Europe, such as Tamino in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte (DNOA, 2022), Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni (Opera Warberg, 2022), and Alberto in Rossini’s La Gazzetta (Läckö Slott 2024).
Theodor has also performed as a soloist in passions, requiems, and other concerts. Upon the invitation of the court, he had the honor of performing Bernadotte songs as a soloist during the celebration of the royal family's bicentennial held in Pau, France, in 2018.
Now, Theodor is focusing his attention on Scandinavian stages, and in the 2023/24 season, he made his house debut at Malmö Opera: the King in "Sherlock and the Singer” that will reprise at the same house in the autumn of 2025. Before that he will make is house debut at Det Konglige Teater in Copenhagen in Wagner´s Die Meistersing von Nürnberg.
